Pierce age 74, of Dover, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, in Dover's Union Hospital. Born Oct. 23, 1938, in Harrison County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Edward D. and Daisy Rose Baldwin. Virginia graduated high school, and, on Feb. 19, 1955, married Thomas "Tom" Pierce. In 1962, the young family (with the addition of their son, Edward "Rusty" Pierce) moved to Tuscarawas County where Tom had taken a job. Virginia was a loving wife and mother and was employed by Bobbie Brooks of Dover, and later by Zimmer Patient Care, also of Dover, from which she retired. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren when they came along, as well as caring for her dog, Scrappy. Other favorite pastimes were canning, crocheting, macrame, bingo, and bowling. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Becky Pierce of Dover; her grandson, Jason Pierce, with the U.S. Air Force in Clearwater, Florida; her grandson and his wife, Michael and Rian Pierce of New Philadelphia; her great-grandchildren, Noah, Taylor, Ethan, and Chris Pierce; her sister, Daisy Cornette of Dayton; her three brothers, Joe Martin Baldwin of Fairmount, West Virginia, Joe Edward Baldwin of Shinston, West Virginia, and David Baldwin of Clarksburg, West Virginia; and her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved Tom on March 9, 1997; her two sisters, Bonnie Nichols and Nellie Richardson; and her four brothers, Jesse W., Doy E., Lloyd R., and Frank L.
