Bio

The photo attached is Nona Jane Austin Wainscott Padgett, Steven Houghland and Frieda Ehlenberger Pahlitzsch in McCleary, Washington between Christmas 1953 and New Year 1954. A portrait to the left on a dining cabinet is Midge Lorraine Pahlitzsch Altig. William Henry Wainscott 1874-1938 first married to Nona Jane Austin (1874-1955) (she outlived both of them, read on) in 1896 in Indiana. Three children by them… William had a relationship with Nona's younger sister Nellie Marie Austin (1880-1924). Nona soon got wind of the affair and offered William an ultimatum, causing him to quickly cut ties between them in 1904-1905. Married Nellie while she was pregnant. Nona along with Horace Edward Padgett (1872-1928) took her 3 children and their own to McCleary, Washington. Her first child, Clysta Austin Wainscott (1897-1935), ended up at Western State Hospital – Steilacoom, Washington and died there on 28 July 1935. What happened? My mother said she went crazy! I emailed the hospital with specific questions/requests (no response) and went there in person asking for medical records; they wouldn't give them to me. Need to fill out proper form[s]. The other two children, Ruth Opal (1898-1920) and Claude Merrill Wainscott (1899-1973), went back to Indiana, to be with their father, and died southwest of Indianapolis and Versailles, respectively. ...............
