Bio

Hazel Ann Weir Rigsby went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Aug. 6, 2012. She left this world with her daughters, many friends and family members by her side at Baylor Garland Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Grady Michael Rigsby; her brother, Howard Wiley Weir Jr. (Bobby); and her mom and dad, Bea and Buddy Weir. Hazel leaves behind one sister, Mary Etta Genaro of Dickenson; four daughters whom she loved and lived for, June Barrilleaux Morales and husband Felix of Texas City, Brenda Barrilleaux of Rockwall, Yvette Petersen and husband Terrell Pierce of Rockwall, and Yolanda Petersen of Rockwall; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three nieces; and a host of dear loved ones whom she always considered a part of her family. Hazel attended Texas City High School and was a lifelong member of the Texas City Church of the Nazarene. She had also been a member of the Texas City 518 group of Alcoholics Anonymous since Nov. 19, 1979. Hazel was a retired beautician and practiced her skills for 25 years in the Texas City area until she moved to Waco and then later on to Rockwall. Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Aug. 11, at the Allen Funeral Home in Wylie. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Debby and Gabriel Romero for their love and support throughout the years.
