Deborah Kay "Debbie" McFerrin, 64, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Providence Hospital in Waco. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2016, at Fort Parker Memorial Park, with Rev. J. R. Tapley of the Lost Prairie Baptist Church officiating. Debbie was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Earl Eugene George and Wilma Lee (Chamblee) George. She grew up there and graduated from Waco High School in 1969. When her parents moved to Groesbeck, the whole family, including Debbie and all her sisters and brother and their families, also moved to Groesbeck. She had worked earlier in her life as a cosmetologist in Groesbeck. She had worked as the manager of the 7-11 in Mexia when it first opened and worked in shipping/receiving at Walmart in Mexia. Debbie was primarily a housewife and had not worked during the past 25 years, being confined to home the last few years with her health. She had always enjoyed getting together with family, playing games and having a good time, with lots of laughter. She and her sister, Pamela Pierce, had lived together and took care of each other during their declining health, until Pam preceded her in death in 2014. Her primary caregivers were her nephew, Chris Pierce and niece, Cheryl Tooke, who saw after her daily needs. Debbie was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Everett Tooke and Pete Pierce; and a sister, Pamela Jean Pierce. Survivors include her son, William Forman, of Farrar; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Forman, of Rollins, TX.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Earl George and wife, Tracy, of Groesbeck; sister, Judy Earlene Tooke, of Groesbeck; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.
