Bio

Pamela Jean Pierce, 70, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 24, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2014, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Hospice Chaplain Bob Harr from Waco officiating, and music provided by Mrs. June Wietzikoski. Burial will follow in Fort Parker Memorial Park. Pam was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Earl Eugene George and Wilma Lee (Chamblee) George. She grew up and attended school in Waco. Pam worked earlier in her life as a nurse's aide in the hospital and nursing homes. She met Paul William "Pete" Pierce while he was stationed at Fort Hood. After they were married, and she and Pete started their own trucking company in Oklahoma, driving mobile home "toters." Pam moved to Groesbeck in 1983. She and her son, Chris, drove trucks as a team for two years making long-haul parts cross country trips. She also drove rock trucks. There were few things Pamela couldn’t or wouldn’t try to do if she wanted. She enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. Raising her son was her main interest in life to the very end. Pamela was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Pierce; and her brother-in-law, Everett Tooke. Survivors include her son, Christopher Lee Pierce, of Groesbeck; sisters, Deborah K. McFerrin and Judy Tooke, both of Groesbeck; brother, Johnny George and wife, Tracy, of Groesbeck; nephews: Michael Tooke and wife, Cheryl, of Waco, Walter Hewitt and wife, Melissa, of Thornton, and Tracy Tooke and wife, Amber, of Groesbeck; niece, Kristy Coslin and husband, Jeremy, of Mexia, and Jessica Sherrill, of Waco.
