Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Doris Hill; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carole Fisher of Austin, Minn., Susan and Alan Egger of Lincoln, and Nellie and Eugene Hunt of Kearney; and a son, Glen Hill of Lincoln. Additional survivors include a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Delmer and Terry Dalby of Avon Park, Fla., seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He received his education in schools at Ansley and Comstock, graduating from Comstock High School in 1934 and from the University of Nebraska in 1939. He then moved to Omaha, where he was employed by Iowa-Nebraska Mild Association, the City of Omaha and the Martin plant where B-26 planes were being made. In March of 1943, he moved to the farm, which was homesteaded by his grandfather, William Hill, in 1880. He also woked at B. & D. in Broken Bow. Willard lived on the farm until December 2001, when he became a resident of Valley County Nursing Home in Ord. Willard was united in marriage to Doris M. Dalby on June 30, 1940, at her parents' home near Arcadia. He enjoyed all the wildlife around the farm. He especially enjoyed the times spent with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were special to him. He was a fan of many sports, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Willard and Doris enjoyed the many trips they made across the United States, sometimes flying, driving or taking the tour bus. Willard was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. Memorials may be given to the Arcadia Rescue Unit or the Valley County Nursing Home. The Grand Island Independent - Thur, Jul 10 2003
