Bio

Life Legacy Frank Zabojnik, age 89 passed away with his family by his side Monday, February 22, 2016 at his home in Ennis. He was born on December 3, 1926 in Alma, Texas to Louis and Mary (Valek) Zabojnik. He served in World War II as a Merchant Marine from 1944 to 1948. He married the love of his life Georgie (Dolezalik) on April 17, 1948 in Ennis at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where they have been members ever since. He was a member of the KJT 35, SPJST #25, and a member of Sokol of Ennis. He loved working with his hands doing carpentry, farming and rebuilding and restoring old tractors. He was an avid deer hunter and crappie fisherman. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Georgie Zabojnik of Ennis; three daughters, Debbie Vitovsky and her husband Tony of Ennis, Kari Henderson and her husband Ricky of Blooming Grove and Amy Hutyra and her husband Matt of Ennis; grandchildren, Anne Ludwig and husband Chris, Sara Vitovsky, Matthew Dixon, Nicklas Dixon, Matty Hutyra, Justin Hutyra; great grandchildren, Ethan, Ryder, Gracie, Landry, Kasen; four sisters, Mary Barta, Emily Barto, Ella Babek and husband George, Pauline Drozd; two sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Zabojnik and Rose Zabojnik. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Louis Zabojnik, Stanley Zabojnik, Aubra Zabojnik; two sisters,Theresa Vrla and Frances Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Ennis. Pallbearers will be: Matthew Dixon, Nicklas Dixon, Justin Hutyra, Chris Ludwig, Stan Zabojnik and Greg Zabojnik. We would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Family First Hospice, especially, Cindy, Brandi, and Barbara. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Nepomucene Children St. John School.
