According to the funeral record, Mrs. Francis Simmons was born on October 7, 1857, in Vernon Parish (previously a part of Rapides Parish). She died in the DeRidder area at 4:10 PM on August 13, 1947, at the age of 89. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 1947, at the Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. 2020 Update: per Cindy Prince, Francis is the daughter of Eriah and Martha Hodges.
