Calvin Kucera of Columbus died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Columbus Community Hospital. Calvin Kucera was born December 5, 1930 in Clearwater, NE to Adolph and Rachel (Hoffman) Kucera. He grew up in Schuyler where he graduated from Schuyler High School in 1949. Cal married Deloryce Kolar on January 24, 1951 in Schuyler. In 1960, Cal moved to Columbus where he worked construction for a short time before going to work at Columbus Grain/Husker COOP as a millwright. At the time of his retirement, Cal served as the branch manager. Cal also was the owner of Columbus Manufacturing. Cals hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, golfing, and had a passion for polka music. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Cal is survived by: Wife Dee Kucera of Columbus Daughter Cindy (Jack) Meays of Lincoln Son Craig (Jenny) Kucera of Columbus Daughter Carrie (Mike) Sobcyzk of Sonoma, CA Son Curt (Diane) Kucera of Temecula, CA Son Clint (Kerry) Kucera of Landrum, SC Daughter Carleen (Jeff) Jarecke of Darien, CT 13 Grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren Sister Carolyn Jonas of Phoenix, AZ Several nieces, nephews, and extended family members He is preceded in death by: Parents Adolph and Rachel Kucera Step Mother Sylvia Kucera Daughter Candace Kucera Brother Allan Kucera Brother-in-laws Joe Karnik and Dick Jonas
