Bio
Frances Kathleen Daugherty, 80, of Pine Creek, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa. Born April 1, 1935, in Ashland, she was the daughter of David Alex and Myrle Ethel (Ivy) Phelps. She married Haskell Daugherty on Dec. 21, 1955, in McAlester. She loved hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include two sons, Muriel Angel and Coleman Daugherty; one daughter, Manzel Payne; three granddaughters Jaime Johnson, Andrea Davidson and Jacqueline Payne; two grandsons, James Payne and Matthew Green; four great-grandchildren, Chas, Jade, Bonnie and Kaygen; one sister, Elsie Anderson; three brothers, Thurman Leroy Phelps, Jerry Phelps and Wayne Phelps, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell; parents; daughter, Maye Daugherty; granddaughter, Bonnie Daugherty, and three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with Kenny Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Ti Valley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Pallbearers will be Frank McMurtery, Ed McMurtery, Ronald Phelps, Walter Phelps, Alan Talley and Allen Tucker.
