Bio

Helen Ruth (Finke) Young, 77, of Crowley, Texas, passed from this earthly life and into the arms of Jesus on February 8, 2016. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral services at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Ruth was born at home near Valley Mills, Texas, to the late Willie Ernest "Bill" Finke and Pauline Darby Finke. She was baptized in Steele Creek. Ruth was a 1956 graduate of Morgan High School where she was salutatorian. She worked for Braniff Airlines from 1958 until 1982 beginning as a keypunch operator and later in the accounting department. She met and fell in love with Melvin S. Young and they were married on April 27, 1996, at East Grand Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. She was a member of South Burleson Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir, traveling and family history. Survivors included her husband, Mel; sister, Ann Schildge, of San Jose, California; two nieces; a nephew; many cousins, church family, and other friends. E21
