Married Nov 22 1937 Burwell, Garfield, NE ------------------------------------ Petersen Rites Set For Friday Alice Petersen was born July 6, 1910 in Valley County, Nebraska to Frank and Anna Kozlick Knapp and died October 25, 1983 in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 73. Alice was raised and spent her entire life in Valley county, attending rural schools in the area as a child. On November 22, 1937, Alice was united in marriage to William Petersen in Burwell. For their entire married life, they lived on a farm six miles east of Ord. Survivors include her husband, William of Ord; her mother, Anna Knapp of Omaha; one brother, Joe Knapp of Ord; and two sisters, Helen Wozniak of Ord, and Anna Janda of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. Services will be held Friday, October 28, 1983 at 2:30 pm at the Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Harold Koelling will officiate. The organist will be Viola Hackel and duets will be sung by Larry and Allen Koelling. Active pallbearers will be Leonard Proskocil, Leo Thomsen, Thead Nelson, Ivan Rasmussen, and Willis Plate. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Maly, Joe Novak, Gary Nelson, Ernest Maly, Harvey Thompson, and Lumir Hayek. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery with Ord Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Valley County Nursing Home. The Ord Quiz - Oct 28 1983, Pg 6, Col 3
