Bio

Petersen Rites Held at Chapel William Petersen was born May 3, 1902, in Springdale Township in Valley County, Nebraska to Knud and Johanne Petersen, and died July 4, 1984 at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 82. William grew up and attended rural schools in the Springdale Township. He was united in marriage to Alice Knapp on November 22, 1937, at Burwell. They made their home on the farm where William was born and spent their whole married life there. Alice died October 25, 1983. William just recently had become a resident of the Valley County Nursing Home. Survivors include one sister, Marie Rasmussen of Ord; two brothers Hans Petersen of White River, SD and Chris Petersen of Grand Island; and several nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his wife, one sister and three brothers. Services were held Saturday, July 7, 1984 at 2 pm at the Ord Memorial Chapel with the Rev. A. L. Meyer officiating.
