Richard “Sparky” Osantowski, 78, of Genoa, Nebraska, died Friday, January 29, 2016, at the York General Hospital in York, Nebraska. The visitation will be on Sunday, January 31 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. At the Genoa City Hall with a 6:00 P.M. vigil service. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery. There will be a private family service. Richard was born September 15, 1937, in Loma, Nebraska, to Benedict and Ann (Hofpar) Osantowski. He attended school at St Mary’s in David City before moving to Genoa. He graduated from Genoa High School. Richard moved to Denver where he worked as a painter before moving to Omaha where he worked for a short time. On April 19, 1960, Richard was united in marriage to Arlene Zimmerman in Bellwood, Nebraska. They lived in Genoa where he worked as a dairy farmer. Richard also worked at various jobs, including Soil Movers and Appleton. Richard enjoyed being outside and liked to go fishing and hunting. He liked to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he was known to spoil with his candy. Richard is survived by: Wife: Arlene Osantowski of Genoa, NE Son: Mike (Shelly) Osantowski of Clarks, NE Son: Paul (Jacinta) of Wolbach, NE Son: Bill Osantowski of Norfolk, NE Son: Vic (Sheryl) Osantowski of Campbell, NE Son: Joe (Heidi) Osantowski of St. Edward, NE Daughter: Theresa (Marty Caldwell) Osantowski of Cedar Rapids, NE Son: Pat (Jen) Osantowski of Genoa, NE Son: Phil (Mary) Osantowski of St. Edward, NE 23 Grandchildren 3 Great Grandchildren Brother: Gerald (Diane) Osantowski of Clarks, NE Sister: Cynthia (Wesley) Kunkee of Shelby, NE Sister: Joan (Gary) Mausbach of Tarnov, NE Sister: Marlene (Joe) Vetick of Columbus, NE Richard was preceded in death by: Parents: Benedict and Ann Osantowski 2 Grandsons
