John P. Adamcik was born in in Lagrange, TX where he graduated from La Grange HS in 1955. He worked for the Dallas Police Department for 28 years starting in 1957. In 1963 he was a Detective in the Homicide & Robbery Bureau of the DPD and was a key detective on the JFK assassination. Specifically, he helped search Ruth Paine's house and garage the afternoons of 11/22 & 11/23/63. On 11/22 he retrieved the blanket in the garage said to have contained Oswald's alleged rifle. Adamcik was also one of the first to interrogate Lee Harvey Oswald upon his arrival at the DPD on Nov. 22nd. He was later present at Mamantov’s interview of Marina about the rifle, and corroborated Mamantov’s innacurate translation of it to the Warren Commission. He married Linda June Folmer of Quitman, in Dallas at the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Sat. September 28, 1963.
