Bio

Maria Veverka was born in 1884 on the family farm in Skull Creek Township, Butler County, Nebraska, USA, the daughter of Josepha Protiva and Martin Veverka. At a young age, she was admitted into the Nebraska Hospital for the Insane located southwest of Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, USA. On 12 Jul 1899, she was moved to the Asylum for the Chronic Insane in Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska, USA, due to overcrowding in Lincoln. She died there on 01 Aug 1903. There is a note in the Hastings records: Her brother (not named, but presumably Ludvik) transported her body to Brainard for burial. She was buried on 03 Aug 1903 in the Old Holy Trinity Cemetery next to her mother, Josepha Protiva Veverka, Block 1, Row 2. (Information submitted by Cynthia Duris Hirst. No Headstone.
