Visitation: Friday Sep. 8, 2006 Service: Friday Sep. 8, 2006 Cemetery: Hillcrest Garden of Memory Evelyn Elaine Karlik, 81, of Garland, Texas went to be with the Lord after a lengthy & courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in Mesquite, Texas. Evelyn was born October 21, 1924 in Aquilla, Texas the daughter of Walter Thomas and Beulah Opal (Petty) Bessire. On July 13, 1942 she married Clement L. "Kelly" Karlik and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1995. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. Evelyn was a loving and adorable wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Kelly Karlik, Jr. and wife, Lawana, of Garland and Casey Karlik and wife, Laura, of Mesquite; brothers, Billy Bessire of Amarillo and Tommy Bessire of Hurst; sisters, Geraldine McClaflin of Bethany, OK and Carolyn Duncan of Athens; she was ma and grandma to Brianne, Stacey, Evan, Hollye, Britney, Peyton, and Hunter and great-grandmother to Lexi, Denaye, Ari, Brooklyn, and Jaden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 337 Carr Street, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
