Bio

Wife of D.S. Hadden The Ponca City Daily Courier Ponca City, Oklahoma Wednesday, September 16, 1908 page 2 In Memory Of Mrs. Hadden. Anna Wilgus was born in Jefferson county, Oho, December 1, 1842 and died at Cross, September 15, 1908. She was united in marriage to D.S. Hadden October 14, 1867. To this union was born eight children: Perry, Arthur and William of Cross, Frank Hadden and Laura Buck of LaPlatte, Missouri, Myrtle Lones and Anna Ellis of Ponca City, one child dying in infancy. She was a member of the Presbyterian church 39 years and lived a consistent Christian life, bearing with cheerfulness and fortitude the sufferings of years of invalidism. She was a devoted wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. Her husband and seven children were with her during her last illness and she passed peacefully to the land beyond surrounded by loved ones. The funeral services were held in the church at Cross on Sunday afternoon and she was borne gently to her last resting place by her sons and sons-in-law, who acted as pall bearers, and followed by sorrowing friends and neighbors.
