Robert E. French, 89, of Robinson, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016, in Waco. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Sunday, January 17, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, January 18, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Dr. Cary Killough officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Robert was born in Wood County, Texas, to the late William Jackson and Annie Lee (Martin) French. He married Freddie Gardner on December 22, 1951, in Centerville. Robert was a long time member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and an avid Ham Radio operator. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Robert was a Master Mason and Shriner. He retired from TXU after 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Freddie; daughter, Jeanne Loraine Baker; a brother; and four sisters. Survivors include his son, Robert Larry French and wife, Susan; daughter, Nancy Moeller and husband, David; grandchildren: Robert Baker, Benjamin "B.J." Baker, Kellie Baker, Jason French, Jonathan French, Angie Hendricks, Katie Wilde; ten great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Waco Tribune-Herald: 1/16/2016...Y20
