GILMER -- Services for Carl Poole Jr., 78, of Gilmer, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with the Rev. Ray Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Grice Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Poole passed away Sunday, December 4, 2005, at a hospital in Tyler. Mr. Poole was born February 16, 1927, in the Grice Community, to Archie Carl and Dessie Bernice Poole. He was a road and bridge construction worker and member of Grice Baptist Church. Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carrie Dale Poole; brothers, James Poole; and nephew, Douglas Riggs. Mr. Poole is survived by his sister, Dorothy Riggs of Gilmer; nephew, Glenn Riggs of Gilmer; niece, Maeva Thompson; sister-in-law, Mrs. James Poole; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. this evening, December 6, 2005, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
