Bio
Mildred Louise Houston, 84, of Temple, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at a local hospital. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home followed by an interment in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Mildred was born in Falls County, Texas, to the late Jefferson D. and Selma (Patzke) Good. She was a graduate of Lott High School and Hillcrest Memorial School of Nursing in Waco. She married Charles W. Houston on November 8, 1952, in Marlin, TX. Mildred worked as a RN at Marlin VA and Temple VA. She also worked part-time at the Charcoal Drive Inn and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and a son, Kirby. Survivors include her son, Brett Houston, of Temple; grandchildren: Trevor Houston, Travis Houston, and Tyler Houston; and several great-grandchildren. Temple Daily News: 1/4/2016
