Suggested edit: Vernice L. Nelson, the daughter of Fred and Myrtle Nelson Senff was born near Bradshaw, Nebraska on October 1, 1929. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on June 13, 1978, following several years of failing health, at the age of 48 years, 8 months and 12 days. She spent her childhood in the vicinity of Bradshaw, where she received her education in the public schools of that vicinity, graduating from the Bradshaw High School in 1948. She then attended York College. After her college she taught a rural school near Bradshaw. On August 20, 1949 she was united in marriage to Marvin Nelson at North Platte, Nebraska. They resided for a short time in York, then moved to Pueblo, Colorado, then returned to York, after a short time. In 1955 they moved to Hastings, Nebraska, residing there until 1965 when they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1972 they came to Aurora, where she and her husband operated the Daylight Donut Bakery. Vernice was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith, and was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Fern and Kenneth Senff. Her survivors include her husband, Marvin; four sons, Edwin Nelson of Denton, Nebraska, Tim Nelson of Aurora, Craig Nelson at home and Eric Sweeney, a nephew whom they raised as their own, at home; two brothers, Garland Senff of York and Raymond Senff of Bradshaw; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Wurst of York, Mrs. Darlene Olson of Malcolm, Nebraska and Mrs. Donna Abel of Broomfield, Colorado; one granddaughter, Jeena Nelson; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many close friends.
