Avis was the wife of Jeptha Dupree Long and the mother of Alma Beatrice Long Busch and Thelma Long Hughes. She was the grandmother of Alma Jack "Jackie" Busch Jenson, Frank Morgan Busch, Jr., William Jeptha Busch, Charles Randall Busch, Veeda Loyce Hensgen Weaver, and Lorraine Hensgen Christian. She had a number of brothers and sisters.
