Bio

Raymond Thorp Lyles, 96, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015. Raymond, born and raised in Monticello, was a resident of Fort Worth for over 60 years. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps. Raymond retired in 1980 after 36 years with Commercial Transport Co. He was a member of Tarrant Masonic Lodge 942 for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Chloe Jean Lyles in 2013; brother, Bobby Lyles; sisters, Virginia Lacey and Dorothy Hudgins; and sister-in-law, Tommie Faye. Survivors: Children, John R. and Pat Lyles, Martha and Bob Alsbrooks, Glenda and Dave MacPherson; grandchildren, Rick, Sean and Shawna Lyles, Tonja Alsbrooks and brother, Rob; great-grandchildren, Brittanie Austin, and Danielle Lyles and Madison Alsbrooks; great-great-grandson, Aiden Lyles; brother-in-law, Leon Carpenter; sisters-in-law, Velma Spray and Ruth Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
