Jean Lyles, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Pittsburg, Texas, to Ezera and Lula H. Carpenter. She graduated from Pittsburg High School. She married Raymond T. Lyles on July 21, 1941. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church in White Settlement and a member of the Eastern Star in Granbury. She was a devout 42 player and enjoyed playing with Frances and Bill Colwell. Jean was an avid Texas Rangers fan. She retired from Justin Boot Co. in 1983. Jean was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is gone from our home, but not from our hearts. Survivors: Husband, Raymond Lyles; son, John Richard Lyles Sr. and wife, Pat; daughters, Martha Alsbrooks and husband, Robert, Glenda MacPherson and husband, David; grandchildren, John Richard Lyles Jr., Sean Eric Lyles, Tonja Michelle Alsbrooks, Robert H. Alsbrooks Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Leon Carpenter; sisters, Velma Spray, Tommy Faye Craft, Ruth Fisher; nephew, Bill Carpenter; numerous nieces and nephews.
