Bio

Son of John Atkinson and Rosetta Amsberry of New York. Husband of Mary H. Hager of Kentucky; married on 19 October 1865 in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky. John Milton Atkinson enlisted in the Union Army, Company I, 14th Infantry Regiment of Kentucky, on 10 December 1861. Mustered out at the rank of Captain on 15 September 1865 in Louisville, Kentucky.
