F. Hullett Dies Suddenly At His Home Near Antioch [The Blount County Journal, 9 Apr 1915] Rev. Geo. F. Hullett died very suddenly at his home on Route 2, Oneonta, Tuesday morning. It was an attack of acute indigestion that carried him away. The attack was of short duration, the end coming in less than an hour after the first symptoms were felt. Bro. Hullett was in Oneonta Saturday and spent some time at The Democrat office in conversation with the editor and appeared to be in good health. He attended church Sunday and no one suspected that he would be carried away so soon. The deceased was 73 years of age and had been a local minister in the M.E. Church for many years. He had the confidence and respect of all who knew him. The very high esteem in which he was held was shown by the enormous crowd that attended his funeral. The funeral services were held at Antioch Church and the remains were laid to rest in the old Glover Cemetery (Antioch Methodist Cemetery). The services were conducted by Revs. S.S. Owens and J.A. Brand, the Masons taking part in the services and burying him according to the rites of that Order. The deceased is survived by his widow, several sons and daughters and many other relatives. Truly a good and useful man has gone, one whose place will be hard to fill.
