Bio
Robert was the 9th child of Jan Polansky and Josefa Velcovsky, born in Horni Becva. He married Julie Kuntz on January 8th, 1884 in Fayette County, Texas. Julie was born on February 14, 1866 in Germany, and died on August 19th, 1905. Robert married Mary Emilia Matcek on May 10, 1910 in Burleson County, the daughter of Joseph Matcek and Frances Sveda. She was born on April 28th, 1882 in Washington County, Texas, and died June 16, 1962 in Lyons, Burleson, Texas. Shortly after his first marriage, Robert and his wife moved from Fayette County to Burleson County and settled in the Frenstat area where he farmed. In about 1894, they moved to Lyons where he joined his brother Adolph in business. They operated a hardware store, a tin shop and a saloon. Robert was also the undertaker in Lyons.
