Louis Joseph Pish was born June 8, 1917, in Shiner, Texas, to Valentine Pish and Veronika Krpec and grew up on farms around Yoakum, Texas. Originally named Alois Bohumil Pish, reflecting his Czech heritage, he later Americanized his name to Louis and added his Confirmation name Joseph. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ernestine Estelle Lamm Pish. Louis is survived by sons Robert, wife Patricia, and Michael of San Antonio, and Timothy of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Reverend Robert Pish of St. Paul, MN, Deborah Swoyer (Neil) and Scott Pish (Michelle) of Austin, TX, Jennifer Pish of Braintree, MA, Sarah Meijide (Joseph) of League City, TX, Andrew Pish of Los Angeles, CA, Aaron Pish (Christine) and Joseph Pish of Topeka, KS; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Megan, Erin and Caleigh Pish, Lucas, Sophia, Isaac and Ava Swoyer, and Paige and Brendan Harrison; and treasured friend Jeff Meeks. Louis was the last surviving member of his seven brothers and sisters. His deep faith, natural curiosity, love of nature in all its forms, and appreciation for all the gifts bestowed upon him in life made him a truly remarkable father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Pallbearers will be Scott Pish, Andrew Pish, Aaron Pish, Joey Pish, Neil Swoyer, and Joseph Meijide.
