Bio

Effie Edna Davis was the daughter of William Davis and Mary Catherine Huey. Her parents were married in Jackson County, Ohio on 31 October 1878. Effie's father William died and her mother then married Jacob Woolum, a widower in Jackson County on 18 November 1891. In 1900 the blended families were living in Decatur, Lawrence, Ohio. Effie married Charles William McLaughlin on 4 January 1906 in Jackson County, Ohio. In 1910 Effie and Charles were living in Columbus, Ohio where Charles was employed as a plasterer. The family included daughters Opal Oakes and Jennie E. as well as Charles' brother Earnest R. Effie reported that she was the mother of 3 children, 2 of whom were living. In 1920 Charles, now widowed was still living in Columbus. The household included Opal Oakes, Wilbur D, Charles W and Perry. Jennie E was not in the household. Charle;' mother Emma Oakes McLauglin and his brother Edgar were in the household as well. Charles married Millicent Klee in 1928. The informant on Effie's death record was her husband Charles.
