Steven Mayfield Obituary STEVEN EUGENE MAYFIELD, 57, passed away Friday, September 1, 2006 at his residence in Santa Fe, TX. Steve was born on August 21, 1949 in Pasadena, TX to Mary and Bobby Mayfield. Steve was a self-made businessman. He began his own successful company 22 years ago. He never hired any employees because he knew no one would take care of his customers like he did. He enjoyed a good political debate and addressed any challenge with persistence. Steve provided his family with great strength and support. He is worthy of any and all praise his family and friends could give him. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn Mayfield; parents, Mary and Bobby Mayfield; daughter, Christie Fickessen and husband, Karl; son, Jeremy and wife, Jennifer; sister, Charla and brother, Gary; grandchildren, Ross and Marla Fickessen and Gaven Mayfield, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His family welcomes friends to join them for visitation Sunday, September 3, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2006 in the chapel of Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, TX.
