Sarah's nickname was Sally and her middle name was Story. She was born on Oct. 23, 1825 in Mercer, Somerset County, Maine. Sarah's parents were Ebenezer Libby and Louisa B. Winslow Libby. Ebenezer Libby, son of Joel Libby and Mehitable Nash, was born on June 2, 1796, in Gray, Cumberland County, Maine, and died on Nov. 24, 1865, at Forestville, Delaware County, IA. Louisa B. Winslow, daughter of John Winslow and Sally Baker, was born around 1805 in Mercer, Somerset County, Maine, and died on April 25, 1863, in Forestville, Delaware County, IA. Sarah married Daniel Briggs on Sept. 18, 1847, in Serena, LaSalle County, IL. Her death on July 7, 1900, resulted from falling down the outside stairs of her home in Forestville, Delaware County, IA.
