Lorene was born in Walthill, Nebraska, on February 9, 1925, and passed away April 15, 2009 in Spokane, Washington. Mrs. Blancher was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Herman J. "Bud" Blancher; son, Richard J. Blancher; parents and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas J. and Zina Blancher, grandsons, Charlie D. Brown, Michael J. Blancher and Jeremy J. Hall, and granddaughters, Megan J. Hall and Mariah C. Hall; daughter, Kathy Blancher; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Kelly Doyle and grandson, Tanner J. Doyle, all of Spokane; sisters, JoAnne Demmon of Spring Valley, Calif., and Eva Roberts of Spokane; brother, Joseph Malek of Loon Lake, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009, from 12 noon until 7 p.m., followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 24, 2009, at 3 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8112 N. Howard Dr., Spokane, with a reception to follow.
