She was born the youngest child to Barney William and Golda Iona (Gunn) Gilbreth on August 21, 1930 in Vernon, Texas. Her original given name was Glory, which she later changed to Gloria, but everyone that knew her called her Jeannine. Upon graduating from high school in Dallas, Texas, she moved to Los Angeles, California. Eventually, she met a handsome LA City firefighter and architect named Marshall Frederick Willett and they got married on April 3, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jeannine worked as a secretary/receptionist for the Tabery Corp., Manufacturers Bank and Industrial Electronic Engineering (IEE). She was also a graduate of the John Peters Academy and an accomplished hair stylist. When her husband Marshall retired from the LAFD in 1975, the family relocated to Selah, Washington. Jeannine passed away in the house that Marshall designed and built for the family. Jeannine and Marshall re-discovered their religion in Selah and attended the L.D.S. Church. Jeannine held many callings in the church where she made strong friendships with the adults and youth. Jeannine had a “green thumb” and her house was always filled with plants and flowers she grew in her yard. Jeannine is survived by her loving son, Brian Kirk Willett, her grandson Steven Marshall Willett and sisters Smiles Dunn and Phyllis Palinkas. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Willett; sisters Maedel, Ioma, Opal, Virginia and her brother Barney. According to her wishes, a small graveside service for friends and family was held on November 25, 2015 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, where she is interred next to her husband Marshall.
