Bio
Ida Salch , 80, passed away on August 22, 2012. Ida was born on August 14, 1932 in Woodsboro, Texas to Minnie and Erwin Korff. She graduated from Woodsboro High School in 1949. In 1951 she married her childhood sweetheart, Herbert Salch. Together they farmed in the Bonnie View area for many years and started their family of four children. In 1970 she moved with the family to Woodsboro to open a small retail store called Salch Co, which grew into a thriving business. The business was sold a few years after her husband's death, and Ida moved to Corpus Christi. Ida is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, her son, Richard, and her grandson, Jeremy. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Jim) Johnson of College Station, Christine Salch (Rick Bell) of Corpus Christi, and David (Brenda) Salch of White City, Oregon; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two brothers, two sisters, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 25, at 10 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Refugio, Texas. Interment will follow immediately at La Rosa Cemetery in Woodsboro.
