Sweetwater Man Drowns Sweetwater, May 30 - The body of Ernest (Dick) Owens, 54, was recovered from the water at Lake Sweetwater at 6:30 this morning, 30 minutes after he had toppled off a raft where he and a companion had been fishing since 3 a.m. Sweetwater firemen, using an inhalator, tried vainly for more than two hours to recusitate him. Funeral service for Mr. Owens is to be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Lamar Street Baptist Church. The Rev. J. P. McBeth, pastor, is to officiate, assisted by the Rev. L. E. Jones of Lamesa. Burial is to be in the Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home. Mr. Owens had been a resident of Sweetwater for more than 24 years.
