Bio

Retha Clark Sweetwater - Retha Ann Clark, 76, of Sweetwater, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday in a Roscoe nursing home after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cate-Spencer Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tommy Taylor, pastor of Highland Heights United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert C. Brothers, Robert Dodgion, Leslie Hall, Johnny Perryman, J. O. Speele and Jim Conatser. Born Nov. 12, 1901 in Ellis County, she moved to Roby as a child and to Sweetwater in 1928. She married Thomas J. Clark in 1924 in Snyder. Mr. Clark died May 22, 1973. Survivors include three sons, Jasper D. and Charles D., both of Sweetwater and Thomas of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four brothers, Blewett Crow of Odessa, Bud and Bill Walker, both of Abilene, and Claude Walker of Midland; three sisters, Frances Poe of Abilene, Margaret Richardson and Lurline, both of Midland; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
