Bio

Clara (Gajewski) Stastny, 90, of Sealy, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 in Sealy, Texas at Colonial Belle Nursing Home. She was born January 16, 1925 in Mixville, daughter of Frank and Louise (Orsak) Gajewski. She grew up and attended school in Mixville. On October 29, 1945, Clara married Ludvik Stastny in Sealy where they made their home, raised their five children and were members of Immaculate Conception Church. Over the years, Clara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She treasured the time she was able to spend with her family. She was an excellent cook, her specialty was her kolaches and pies. She loved Polka music and if possible would have listened to it 24/7. Clara is survived by her daughter, Lois Duncan; sons, Ben (Marie), Larry (Becky) and Jim (Debbie); son-in-law, Joe Marusik and ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Stastny and brothers, Clem (Barbara), Steve (Nancy) and Victor (Betty) Gajewski; sisters-in-law, Lorease and Mary Lou Gajewski. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Louise Gajewski; husband, Ludvik Stastny; daughter, Joan Marusik; grandson, Jerald Marusik; brothers, Joe and Eugene Gajewski and son-in-law, Ben Duncan. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church with father Eric Pitre officiating with the interment in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Knesek Funeral Home of Sealy. Memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or a charity of your choice.
