Thompson Sr., 69, of 1705 Reed Ave. died at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Douglas, Neb., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Thompson. He married Dorothy M. Kotzelnick in 1934, and she died in 1968. A resident of Springfield since 1940, Mr. Thompson was employed by the Fiat-Allis Manufacturing Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1978. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Patricia Thompson, at home; and Mrs. Priscilla Beal and Miss Cheryl Thompson, both of Springfield; one son, Virgil W. Thompson of Springfield; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marilyn Skinner and Mrs. Frankie McClees, both of Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers, John Daryl Thompson and Jay Thompson Jr. of East Alton; several nieces and nephews.
