Bio

Enumerated in 1880 in Pct. 4, ED 90, dwelling 72, Shelby Co., TX. In household were wife, Auna, son James M. and three g-daughters: Sarah, Mary A. and Ella Oates. Cemetery located west from Joaquin on Hwy 84 to FM 3343, turn left, follow road to Willow Grove Church and cemetery, continue right on CR3849 for approx 1 1/2 mi to tee in road, main road veers left. Turn right up a poorly maintained dirt road for 1/4 mi, turn right into a cleared dirt area. Old cemetery in back. Overgrown with trees and weeds. Several old graves here.
