Olga Vrla Pechak, 93, died October 25, 2015, in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2015, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m., in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis with Father John Dick as officiant. Olga was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Agnes Galetka Vrla and John M. Vrla. Olga enjoyed all things associated with her Czech culture and heritage, especially Polka dancing, baking kolaches, and singing Czech songs. She loved to cook and her holiday dinners were legendary. She belonged to the SPJST Lodge, sang with the Polka A's, and was a member of the Altar Society of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Oak Cliff, TX. She made several visits to Czechoslovakia and was able to visit her mother's hometown of Zlin, where she visited with several distant relatives. Olga retired in 1984 from civil service after 34 years. After retirement, she and her husband, Bob, enjoyed trips to California, Spain, Acapulco, Washington D. C., Florida, Colorado, and many more places. They went polka dancing almost every Saturday of their 17 year marriage. She was preceded in death by her her husband, Robert "Bob" Francis Pechak; and brothers, Milton Verla of Andale, KS, and John F. Vrla, of Ennis, TX. Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Stone and husband, Bill, of Houston, and Barbara Morgan-Downing, of San Antonio; stepdaughter, Celia Pechak Bourke and husband, Jeff, of El Paso; stepson, Robert Pechak, of Colorado; grandsons, Michael Stone and wife, Melissa, and Daniel Stone and Roxanne; great-grandson, Garrett Stone; great-granddaughter, Reagan Stone, both of Houston; four nieces; several friends, cousins, and relatives around Ennis, Dallas, Waco, Czechoslovakia, and the United States.
