Bio

U.S. Navy Veteran, WW II & Korean War Rudolph Kaspar, age 95, of Clovis, died Saturday, February 6, 2010, at his home in Clovis. He was born November 4, 1914, in Prague, NE, to the home of Ludrik [sic: Ludvik] and Antonie Fencl Kaspar. He married Vera Brown on May 30, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN. He retired from the Navy as an aircraft mechanic in 1960 after 24 years of service. He served 4 years on a naval vessel in WWII. He served as Chief of Police in Cambridge, MN. He enjoyed his retirement, doing several different things. He and his wife became snow birds and moved to Clovis in the 1980's to get to better weather. He was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God. He is survived by his wife, Vera of the home; 2 daughters, Barbara Johnson of Clovis, NM, and Marilee (John) Kelly of New Hope, PA; 1 son, R. "Bruce" Kaspar (Mary) of Cambridge, MN; 11 grandchildren, Roxanne Rohlof of LeSueur, MN, Charlene Rutowski (Russell) of LeSueur, MN, Charles Smith, Jr. (Stacy) of Canton, OH, John E. Kelly III (Diane) of Emmaus, PA, Johnette Buck (Joe) of Ottsville, PA, Trasa (Traci) Johnson Chambers of Clovis, NM, Matthew C. Johnson (Lesley) of Colorado Springs, CO, Jason R. Kaspar (Susan) of Cambridge, MN, Jared T. Kaspar (Jessica) of Lakeville, MN, Joanna L. O'Neil (Mike) of Isanti, MN, and Justin B. Kaspar of Colorado Springs, CO; 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ludrik [sic: Ludvik] and Antonie Fencl Kaspar; 1 daughter, Garnet Smith; 1 brother, Raymond Kaspar, and 1 sister, Antoinette Stara. His body has been donated to science. A private memorial service will be held at a later date with his grandson, Matthew C. Johnson, officiating.
