Elaine K.DeFord July 10,1929-October 24,2015 Elaine K.DeFord, 86, died October 24, 2015 at Highland Park Care Center. She was born July, 10, 1929, in Bruno, NE to Theodore A. and Helen M. (Tomek) Rerucha, the second child of five. She grew up in David City, NE and graduated from David City High School in 1947. On July 5, 1949 Elaine was united in marriage to Robert E. DeFord in David City. They lived in more than 6 small railroad communities before moving to Alliance in 1968. They moved to Ft. Worth, TX in 1982 before returning to Alliance in 1983. Elaine spent her early adult years as a bookkeeper at the David City Bank. For over ten years she sold and delivered Avon. She enjoyed sharing her time and conversation with all her friends she made throughout her Avon territory. Elaine looked forward to family get-togethers and visits with neighbors and friends. She was always available to help in any way she could with her children and grandchildren. She loved crossword puzzles, polka music, and walks around her neighborhood. Elaine and Bob enjoyed their retirement years travelling. The highlights of her travels were going to Hawaii for their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1999 and a Caribbean Cruise in 1993. Elaine was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard (Dick) and Theodore R. (Ted) Rerucha. Mass of Christian Burial will be held October 30 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
