Bio
Joseph Ash, 71, of Orem, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2006. He was born in Lindon, Utah, on June 23, 1935, to Joseph H. And Miriam Kirk Ash. He married Elaine Simpson in the Salt Lake Temple on January 23, 1959. Joseph served with the U.S. Army, accomplishing many duties. He loved and served in many capacities in the community and the church. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and served with his work in aerospace industry for 40 years, retiring from L3 Communications in 1997. Joe also loved sports. He was a coach to his sons in Little League for many years. He also loved to watch the Utah Jazz; he was one of their biggest fans, and wouldn't miss a game for anything! He loved the game of golf, BYU, and the world of sports on TV. Joe is survived by his wonderful eternal mate, Elaine Simpson Ash; daughter, Christine (Donnell) Pead; sons: Kevin Lee (Caradie) Ash, and Ronald S. Ash; his sister, Beth (Darrell) Frampton; and by his grandchildren: Jamie, Kara, and Melissa Pead; and Aubrey, Sarah, Beau, Brodie, Carter, and Ryker Ash. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven; and daughter, Rose Ann. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2006, at the Suncrest 2nd Ward, 130 North 400 West in Orem. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495 South State Street in Orem, on Sunday, August 20; and, one hour prior to the services at the church.
