Jo Anne Norred Barfield, 84, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Sweetwater Health Care Nursing Center. Mrs. Barfield was born in Snyder, Texas on February 14, 1931. On December 31, 1948, she married Frank Hardy Barfield. Jo Anne was a long time member of Fourth & Elm Church of Christ and the Retired Teachers Association. She worked and retired from Sweetwater I.S.D. for 25 years (1966-1991) at Sweetwater Middle School as the office secretary. Survivors include: Husband, Frank Barfield of Sweetwater, TX; 4 Daughters, Vickie Smith of Belton, TX, Joy Gay and husband, David, of San Angelo, TX, Tracey Carrigan and husband, Steve, of Abilene, TX, Leslie Headrick and husband, Max, of Sweetwater, TX; 3 Sisters, Faydene Hart of Lubbock, TX, Betty Hodgson of Lubbock, TX, Patsy Barnett of Wilson, TX; Brother, James Norred and wife, Elena, of Midland, TX; 8 Grandchildren and 14 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Vicie Mae (Ellis) Norred, a sister, Mickey Clark, a brother, Robert Norred and step-mother, Ira Lee Norred. Pallbearers are her grandsons and grandsons-in-law: Steven Smith, Barrett Smith, Jonathan Gay, Rex Headrick, Rob Headrick, Peter Abridge, Daniel Fears and Chris Stallard.
