Bio

Dr. Wesley Weekley, 86, of Pace, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2015. Dr. Weekley was born on October 17, 1928, in Milton, FL. He was educated in public schools and graduated from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, FL. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. His love for His Lord & Savior and his heart for lost souls was his passion until his last breath. As an ordained minister with the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Dr. and Mrs. Weekley’s ministry included pastoring Lake Jackson Assembly of God in Tallahassee, FL; serving as missionaries to the countries of Asia Pacific, Southern Asia and Eastern Europe; planting churches in the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hungary, and Yugoslavia; teaching in Bible colleges in Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and India; supporting the renovation of the Bangkok Bible College, Thailand, and the Mindanao Regional Bible College, General Santos, Mindanao; sponsoring the building of Evangel Bible College, Albay, Luzon; sponsoring feeding programs and student scholarships for MRBC in Southern Mindanao, LBC in Southern Luzon, and EBC in Southern Luzon; and establishing the Asia School of Evangelism & Missions (ASEM). Dr. Weekley also authored several books, including: The Basics of Revival Campaign Planning, Called To Serve, Contending for the Faith, The Holy Spirit, The Ten Commandments, and The New Believers’ Questions. Dr. Weekley was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Weekley and Lena Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Delia Weekley; his daughter, Pam Price; his son, Tim Weekley and his wife, Kimberly; three granddaughters, Anna Richards, Sarah Richards, and Peyton Weekley; one stepgrandson, Travis Robbins; many nieces, nephews, greatnieces, greatnephews, cousins, and many, many loving friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at First Assembly of God, 4301 Bayou Boulevard, with Rev. Tommy Moore, Rev. David Scruggs, and Rev. Fred Howsare officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 P.M., Monday, October 19, 2015, at First Assembly of God. Flowers will be accepted or monetary contributions may be made to West Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God, 4792 US 90, Marianna, FL 32446 for Sis. Delia Weekley.
