Bio
Nancy Jane Purcell wife of Randall Purcell was born October 30, 1843 in Switzerland County Indiana the daughter of Daniel and Mary Ann Holbert Voris and departed this life January 31, 1917 aged 73 years, 8 months and 2 days. She was married to Randall Purcell January 3, 1858. To this union ten children, five boys, Amos, John, William, Sidney and an infant. five girls, Mrs. Mary Peabody, Mrs. Lily Watson, Mrs. Julia Kemp, Mrs. Addie Esarey and an infant. Four of these have preceded her to great beyond, infant boy and girl June 1, 1884, Mary, December 18, 1902; Amos September 25, 1915. Her husband preceded her September 22, 1905. She united with the United Brethren Church when rather young and later moving to this community and the Baptist Church just beyond organized faithful through life. She leaves six children, 36 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Burial Flower Point Cemetery, Alton, Indiana.
