Obit provided thru Hammons Funeral Home LLOYD 'COTTON' SEYMORE Services for Lloyd "Cotton" Seymore who died at 11:28 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, after a sudden illness, were conducted Monday afternoon, Jan. 20, 1997, in First Baptist Church in Sudan. Rev. Cliff Hargrove, pastor, and Terry Wilson of the Sudan Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Littlefield Memorial Park, with Hammons Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements. He was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Tye, TX., and as a young boy, he moved with his family to the Sudan community in 1924. He graduated from Sudan High School. He married Edna Wood on June 15, 1941, in Clovis, N.M. He farmed in Sudan until retiring in 1990. He had served as a member of the board of directors of the Farmers Co-op Gin at Amherst for 26 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sudan. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Floyd, in 1982, and another brother, Tommy Seymore, in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Edna Seymore of Sudan; a daughter, Jeanne Bartley and husband, Gene, of Sudan; a brother, Melvin Leon Seymore of Muleshoe; a sister, Willie Mae Elmore of Littlefield; four grandchildren, Lynn Bartley, and Michael Bartley and wife, Ashley, all of Sudan, and Lee Bartley and wife, Karen, of Amarillo, and Misty McClung and husband, Michael, of San Antonio; and a great-granddaughter, Shelby Bartley of Amarillo. Pallbearers were Ricky Humphreys, Kevin Humphreys, Randy Humphreys, Dale Jahahy, David Seymore, and Tommy Seymore.
