Bio
Ronnie was born on January 27, 1949 to Billy and Bernice Rhoades in Carlsbad, NM. He went to be with Jesus on October 2, 2015 in Lubbock, TX. He was preceded in death by, his parents and his son, Billy. Ronnie graduated from Carlsbad High School and took various classes on and off to further his education. Ronnie married at a young age and had four children. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Jeanne Riba and together they raised her son and his children, which immediately became hers. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Carlsbad Sportsman Club and First United Methodist Church. He worked at WIPP for 28 years and retired in June of 2014. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He spent the last year of his life in a courageous fight. He was strong in his faith and knew without a doubt where he was going. Ronnie was very thankful for his number one caregiver, his wife, the staff at both local dialysis units, and Cory Holtwick. Ronnie's loved survivors include: wife, Jeanne, sons, David Rhoades (Lisa), Marcus Weems, and Bobby Thomas, daughter, Donna Johns (James). Grandchildren, Justin (Erin), Chasity, Carissa, Hannah, Prestin, Ashtin, Dylan, Spencer, Koltin, Kody and Kennedy. Siblings, Joyce Pruitt (Gene), Robert Rhoades (Pam), Jennette Schoenherr (Greg), and Kathy Rhoades. In laws, Larry Riba, James Riba, Neal Riba (Diane), Verla Martin (Hal), Joni Heath (Lucky) and various nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers: David Bryant, Neal Riba, Robert Rhoades, Steve Childress, Kenny Padilla, Carl Melton and Damon Abbott Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday October 7, 2015 at First United Methodist.
