Helen A Paramore, 68, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 4:16 p.m., Tuesday, September 29th, peacefully, at the Cedars House. Helen was born in Goodland, Kansas on December 11, 1946, a daughter of Ruby Beatrice (Stice) and David A. Smith. Helen attended Goodland grade schools and attended Goodland High School, Goodland, Kansas and received her GED through McPherson Learning Center in 1989. She attended Congregational Church Little River, Kansas where her daughter Teresa is a member. Helen was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked at Certain-Teed Corporation as a extruder operator in the piping side, worked for Memorial Hospital as a cook, O’Dells Laundry, the Cedars as a cook, M.C.D.S. as a caregiver, and worked for Sand Stone Heights as a CNA and a CMA until her retirement in 2006. Helen enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time with her family. She loved Christmas and always wanted family home at Christmas time. Helen Arlene Smith was united in marriage to Joseph Alvin Paramore on September 24, 1961 at Helen’s parents home in Goodland, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Logan, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of five children, one daughter and four sons. Helen was preceded in death by her Parents; her husband Joe Paramore; brothers, Art, Dean, and Paul Smith; and a sister Ruth Kibel. The memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church, Little River, Kansas at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 with Pastor Ted Weis officiating. The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to McPhersons Women and Children Combating Cancer and can be sent in care of the Glidden – Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
